Son of late Benjamin C. & Ruth (Woods) Finger. Married Jaqueline (Stubbs) Finger - she survives. Also survived by 1 daughter (Ellen Kay); 3 sons (Paul S., James A, Charles D..) 1 deceased son (Robert B.)Also survived by one brother (Fred Finger). In addition to his parents and son he was preceeded in death by 2 brothers (Ed Paul Finger and Herman Finger) and one sister (Ann Marie Finger). DHS Class of 1938; also attended the University of Pennsylvania and Lock Haven University. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Navy as a pilot. He was a member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church in DuBois. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17 (very active in this group); VFW Post 813; Loyal Order of Ruptured Ducks; Clearfield Masonic Lodge of Free Masons; 40 & 8 Club at Clearfield; Lithuanian Club of DuBois; life member of the Fourth Ward Hose Co. (DBVFD); he had been a foreman at the Baltimore and Ohio car shops at DuBois and was the Secretary of the Board of the State Department of Labor & Industry. For many years on Sunday mornings he hosted the Ben Finger Polka Party on WCED radio in DuBois and was a well known figure in the polka music circles in Pensylvania, Ohio and New York. He died at the Adams Mark Hotel in Philadelphia while attending the 86th annual American Legion State Convention.
