Hugh O. Barr, 79, well known resident of the Vickery vicinity, passed away at memorial Hospital, Fremont last Thursday at 9:10 a.m. where he had been a patient for several weeks. He had been ill for some time before entering the hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Mitchell Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. W. D. Pearce, and burial was made in McPherson Cemetery.
Mr. Barr was a son of John and Margaret Bowlen Barr and was born in Riley township March 27, 1860. He married October 5, 1882 to Azilla Brough and their marriage... Mrs. Barr died December 20, 1931. For the past several years Mr. Barr had made his home with son Zeno and wife.
Surviving are two brothers, Frank and Will Barr of Vickery, a sister, Mrs. Ada Rudin of Chicago, 6 children, Eldon and Howard of Vickery, Charles of Fremont, Mrs. Violet Matter of Tiffin, Zeno of Vickery and Gordon of Fostoria, 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
