MADELINE L. APPS WILD ROSE, WISCONSIN Age 89 passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at her home in Wild Rose.

She was born April 4, 1916 in Wautoma, WI; daughter of John and Sadie (Day) King. She graduated from Wautoma High School in 1932 and Waushara County Normal School in 1933.

On January 26, 1935, Madeline married John G. Apps in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1988.

Madeline's occupations and locations were varied in her life – two neighborhood grocery stores in Superior, WI; Harrington's Shoe Store in Waupaca, WI; Kemper Insurance and Cotton Shops in Chicago, IL; Stern's Personnel in New York City, NY; and Roth's Department Store in Superior, WI.

Madeline and Johnnie moved to Wild Rose in 1979. Johnnie was the Wild Rose Village President until his death in 1988. She was a member of the Wild Rose United Methodist Church, Wild Rose Women's Club, Friends of the Library, Eastern Star # 98, Shriner's # 11, and the Wild Rose Historical Society.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John G. Apps, grandson, Bill Nabbefeld, son-in-law, Randy Mallonee, brother, Robert King, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lida (Herb) Marshall and Verna (Carl) Gruhlke.

A Memorial Service will be on Monday, October 31, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the Wild Rose United Methodist Church. Reverend Diane R. Fite will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Monday at the church. Burial of cremains will be at Wild Rose Union Cemetery in the Town of Wautoma.

The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
