Louise Peters, 78, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born September 20, 1925 to the late Henry Franklin and Nannie Josie Clara Fielder Dunn. She was born and raised in Etowah County, Alabama and had lived in Nettleton for the past 35 years. She was a member of Cason Baptist Church in Monroe County. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and taking care of her grandchildren and other children in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charley Anderson Peters, on December 30, 2002.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cason Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy McMillan and the Rev. James Rutledge officiating. Burial will in the Liberty Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Shelton and husband, Kenny, of Amory; three sons, Claude Peters and wife, Duchess, of Baldwyn, Donald Peters and wife, Karen of Plantersville, Tommy C. Peters and wife, Joyce, of Myrtle; a brother, Albert Dunn and wife, Olean, of Horton, Alabama; 12 grandchildren, Shannon Griffith of Saltillo, Keven Peters of Walls, Jenner Jones of Norfolk, Va., Nathan Peters of Baldwyn, Carol Peters and Bruce Peters, both of Myrtle, Kathy Shelton and Anna Shelton of Amory, and Niki Pumphrey, Cindi Beasley, Derek Peters and Daniel Peters, all of Plantersville; 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbears.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Her body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
