HERBERT SHELBY SR. DIED AFTER STROKE
Herbert Shelby Sr., 62, of 400 Williams ave., Madison, died after a stroke in Madison sanitarium yesterday at 1 p.m., after a short illness.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete this morning. The body ia at the home.
Mr. Shelby had been employed by the Du Pont Company for more that 25 years. At the time of his death he was employed in the power house.
Native of Giles County, where he was reared and educated, he moved to Davidson county 26 years ago.
He had previously served four years in the navy following World War I.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Shelby; two daughters, Mrs. Bethel Poston and Mrs. Raymond Harbison both of Clinton, Iowa; two sons, Herbert Shelby Jr. of Madison, and Leslie Shelby of Shelbyville, Tennessee; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Irwin of Campbellsville, Tennessee; and a brother, Jones Shelby of Campbellsville.
