Mrs. Matilda A. Schuyler died at the home of her son-in-law, George H. Stratton, last Saturday, following a stroke of apoplexy of just a week. She was born on Jan. 22d, 1839, at Little Falls, N.Y., and was married to Windsor D. Schuyler on December 9th, 1862. Mr. Schuyler died Jan. 2d, 1918. They came to Castile 26 years ago, when she was united with the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Castile Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. The funeral services were held at the house on Monday afternoon, the Eastern Star Chapter having charge. Rev. John Evans offered prayer and gave a brief talk on the works of the deceased here. Mrs. Kenneth Elwell sang. The floral offering were large. Tuesday morning the body was taken to Newport, N.Y., where the interment was made beside her husband.
