Iva May Russell, or "Ivy" as she was known to family, was born in Ursa, Adams county, Illinois on 11 December 1901. Both sides of her family had a long history in that township.

Ivy's parents were James Perry Russell and Mary or Grace Davis. (See Mary's page for details.)

Ivy was from a farm family on both sides. Her husband was also a farmer. Ivy's husband was Arthur Warning, son of Herman Henry Gottlieb Warning and Hanna Maria Wilhelmina or "Minnie" (Riepe) Warning. Arthur was a farmer, from farming parents.

So, the Art and Ivy Warning family set up house and farmed near Ursa Illinois all their lives. They had thirteen children. Their children included:

Marguerite (1920 - 2000), James Arthur (1922 - 2003), Pearl (1925 - ?), Delores (1930 - ?), Lloyd (1932 - ?), Kenneth (1934 - ?), Carl (1938 - ?), and Clyde (1939 - ?) Their descendants mostly live in Ursa or Quincy Illinois to this day.

Ivy was known for her warm smile, warm heart, and good cooking. Ivy died 4 January 1967 in the hospital in Quincy, Illinois. She was 65 years old. Today her descendants are many.
