John R. "Jack" Allbery,63, Logan died Monday evening in University Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness. Born 08, May 1926 in Vinton County,son of Ruth Backus Allbery and the late Clyde C. Allbery, he was a retired heavy equipment operator. The Logan High School graduate was a WWII Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Jason in the South Pacific. Surviving are two son, John of Logan, Chris of Glouster; a daughter Sandy Chaffin of Glouster; several grandchildren; four brothers, Max Allbery of Logan,James Allbery of Clyde, William Allbery of Glouster, Clyde Allbery Jr. of Grove City; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Betty Jean)Westcott, Joann Fuller of New Plymouth. He was also preceded in death by an infant son Eric Rolland. Funeral will be held at 10:30 Saturday in the Heinlien Brown Funeral Home, with the Rev. Conrad O. Diehm officiating. Burial will be in the Allbery Family Cemetery in Falls Twp. where Military graveside services will be conducted with the Hocking County combined veterans organizations. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday and anytime Friday; with the family in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
