Margaret Clark Abbott, age 77, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home with her children by her side. She was born in Cleveland County on April 9, 1935. She was the co-founder of Bo's Food Stores.
In addition to her parents, Harvey Clark and Ollie Wood Clark; she was preceded in death by her husband, Bo Abbott, Sr. and a sister, JoAnn Stone.
Mrs. Abbott is survived by her son, Bo Abbott, Jr. and wife, Suzanne, of Lumberton; her daughter, Jean Abbott Davis and husband, Terry, of Lumberton; a sister, Ruth Sikes and husband, Fred, of New Bern; three grandchildren, Melanie Buck and husband, John, Lisa Campbell and husband, Chip, Justin Abbott and wife, Ferrain and a step-grandchild, Jessica Townsend; and five great-grandchildren, Brad Abbott, Matt Abbott, Landon Buck, Jackson Buck, and Chloe Campbell.
A funeral service will be held at Floyd Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Jon Tillman officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made out to Gibson Cancer Center, 1200 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28359.
