Lawrence D. Battle, age 67, of Paris passed away on May 11, 2012 at his residence with the hope of eternal life. He was born October 26, 1944, the tenth child of Clement and Anna (Whalen) Battle of Paris, MI. Larry was a survivor of Tuberculosis Meningitis as a child. He later became a Union Carpenter, working with concrete and bridge construction. Larry is survived by three children; William (Beth) Gimse of St. Joseph, MO, Sherrie (Henry) Klover of Bonner Springs, KS, and Matthew Battle (Angela Baker) of Great Falls, MT, ten grandchildren; Daniel Gimse, Zachary Klover, Krista Klover, Grant Klover, Matthew Lee Battle, Courtney Battle, Marissa Battle, Aaron Brott, Hayden Battle and Sydney Battle, three sisters and four brothers; Carmeleta (Ken) Schultz of Murfreesboro, TN, Noreen (Fritz) Kehr of Paris, MI, Patricia Patterson of New Bern, NC, James (Judith) Battle of Paris, MI, Joseph (Carolyn) Battle of Paris, MI, David (Brenda) Battle of Paris, MI and John Battle of Grand Rapids, MI. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Judith Battle of Paris, MI and Barbara Battle of Reed City, MI, plus many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Anna Battle, his siblings Edward Battle, Rosemary Battle, Raymond Battle, Leo Battle and Anna Mae Allers, plus three brothers-in-law; Fred Hayes, Richard Patterson, and Albert Allers Jr. A wake service with his family will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday June 1, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church near Paris with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Anthony Vainavicz and Fr. Loc Trinh presiding. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Larry's memory may be made to St. Anne's Church and Cemetery.
