Cremation services for Kenneth and Mavis Hunter, were held under the direction of Veroske's Bellingham Chapel. The couple was found dead in their home at 3306 Northwest Ave. Thursday.
Mr. Hunter, 59 was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Denver, Colo and Kirk of Nova Scotia.

Kenneth was the oldest of the three sons who survived to adulthood. He was born in Barnard, Kansas where his father was a rural mail carrier and his mother a music teacher. It was from his mother that Kenneth honed his musical ability. He had a good singing voice and performed solos at various functions, and in the 4th grade he was first-violin for the Barnard high school orchestra. He attended schools in Barnard through high school, and then entered Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas, graduating in 1936 with an A.B. in history. He followed this up in 1938-1939 receiving instruction in Kansas City, Missouri at the Conservatory of Music. On 5 Jun 1937 he married Helen Walker Beach, at Beloit, Kansas. Helen born 12 Apr 1915 in Zenda, Kingman County, Kansas. She was living in Salina when she met Kenneth.
In 1940 they were living in Arlington, Reno County, Kansas where Kenneth taught high school music. Their first son, Kenneth Robert (who went by "Bob") was born in 1942 in Wichita, Kansas. Kenneth and his family were next found in Kansas City, Missouri where he worked on airline manual publishing for TWA. It was there that their second son, David Kirk, who went by his middle name, was born on 21 Dec 1947 (he died 26 Nov 2000 in Evergreen, Colorado). Kenneth and Helen divorced in 1952, Helen receiving custody of their sons. She lived most of the rest of her life in Denver, dying there on 15 Dec 1986 at the Presbyterian Hospital, most likely from heart problems.
Kenneth "bounced around" for several years, sometimes living with his parents in Barnard and giving music lessons and perhaps teaching also. On 26 Oct 1957 he married Mavis Clarissa Yeates in San Diego, California. In 1959 they were living in Boulder, Colorado where Kenneth was employed by Sundstrand Aviation. At some point they ended up in Bellingham, Washington. On 19 Aug 1974 the bodies of both Kenneth and Mavis were found in their home at 3306 Northwest Avenue. Kenneth's body was autopsied and, besides finding rather severe cardio-vascular problems, it was suspected that other factors were involved, especially alcoholism.
