The following story was taken from a hand written statement by Henry Young-E. H. Stepfather.
"In the spring of 1891 & winter of 1890, Henry Shaw at the age of 16y was working for his step-father in Elko Co, NV when he because aquainted with Rosa Dell Dakin 28y of extremely bad character having been living with a buck indian in his camp along for two weeks and forced from the same by her own father and brothers. Henry being young, was enticed by her and her father and one brother to except her company until it was seen by her condition that she was with child. It was then that Shaw ask for a licence to marry Rosa, but young and Shaw's mother would not consent. So they lived together with out any ceremoney and being poor, Shaw struggled very hard year after year to maintain her and act as a husband. Until the year of 1897 Shaw became convinced of her unfaithfullnes and since he has been a true and faithfull man during the six years, he left and went to live with his mother."
It was at this time that Rosa made up a story that Shaw and his niece were having an affair. Rosa got another women to sware that the complaint was true and had him jail for Adultury. A petition for a pardon was issued on November 17,1898. After leaving prison, he took the last name of his step-father "Young"
Rosa married Owen Wilson on August 7, 1901 in St Anthony, Fremount, Idaho. No further information could be found on Owen.
1900 & 1910 Census: Bingham, Idaho: Rosa Wilson 38y is living with her brother Elmer 67y and Her children: Emmett Shaw 14y & Ambrose 19y, plus her daughter Ruby Wilson 5y plus E.D. Nelson 45y Divorced-Head of household.
Then married Edmond Daniel (E.D.) Nelson 21 March 1911 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had a daughter-Ruby Estella in 1904 before they were married.
Rosa is listed a Rozella Shaw(even though she never married Shaw) on her Death Certificate, a widow, occupation-Trash picker, died of Paralysis of the insane and was in the Assylum (State Hospital South) from March 26, 1926-Sept 1, 1926.
