Esther L. Brand Stallard, 87, died at 7:50 AM Friday, March 7, 1997, in Murdock Manor. Born on Feb. 17 1910, at Dayton, she was a 1928 graduate of Dayton High School and a 1929 graduate of Lafayette Business College. She also attended Purdue University and lived in Lafayette most of her life. She married Owen M. Stallard on Nov. 4, 1938, in Lafayette.

Mrs. Stallard was a secretary at Public Service Indiana, General Telephone Co. and Alcoa, where she was secretary to the purchasing agent from 1943 until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Alcoa Retirees Club, Alcoa 25-Year Club, and AARP. She was a former member of the Pilot Club and Purdue Women's Club. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.

Surviving are her husband; a brother, Earl Brand of Dayton; and a sister, Vera Shuster of Otterbein. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Elliott; and two brothers, Lloyd and Hobart Brand. Service March 10, Hippensteel Chapel, Pastor Phil Emerson officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
