Leroy Edwin Puckett

Rossville -- Leroy Edwin Puckett, 90, formerly of 725 Freeman in Topeka, died Monday, March 2, at a Rossville nursong home.
Mr. Puckett owned and operated Leroy Puckett's Painting and Wallpapering Co. at Lawrence. He retired in 1960 and moved to Topeka. He lived in Rossville since 1979.
He was born June 15, 1896, at Lawrence, a son of Elvin and Mary Louisa Rand Puckett.
Mr. Puckett was a member of a United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

His wife, Mrs. Florence Steffee Puckett, died Sept. 25, 1978.
Survivors include three sons, Harry Puckett, Kenneth Puckett, and Wayne Puckett, all of Lawrence; a stepson, S. "Bud" Parr, Wamego; a brother, William Puckett, Lawrence; seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday on the Topeka Cemetery patio. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mr. Puckett will lie in state after noon today at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday.
