On Monday 21st Alonzo McCraw 17 years of age and his brother Renzo,age 14 years Sons of Thomas McCraw,who resides near New Santa Fe Mo.were out hunting wild geese.One of them arm with a shot gun and the other a rifle.They had taken position near a straw stack in a feild and were secreting themselfs from a flock of geese that was approching in their direction.The riflew as left setting against the straw stack and by some means was discharged,the ball passing though the body of Alonzo from the effects of which he died on Tuesday eveing at 8o'clock Young McCraw was a great favorite in the neighborhood and his death is universally regretted...
Alonzo was shot 21 Jan 1889 between 10:00AM and 11:00AM and died Tuesday 22 Jan 1889 at 8:00PM and was buried 23 Jan 1889 3:00PM at the old King Cemetery that is now, Mount Pleasant
Thomas William McCraw and wife Jane Littral McCraw and sons Alonza,Buddy and Thomas Jones McCraw were removed from this Cemetery, in the spring of 1938,to Belton Cemetery by Louise McCraw daughter, Thomas W and Jane McCraw .
