Vernon Lloyd Bigelow, 63-year-old Blackfoot resident, died Sunday, May 20, 2012- at the Bingham Memorial Hospital from a sudden illness.
He was born March 19, 1949, in Blue Island, Chicago, the son of Lloyd Holden Bigelow and Bertha Mary Frances Zehm. He attended grade school in Chicago and graduated from high school in Mesa, Arizona.
He married Patricia Ann Leafty and they were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. They were later divorced.
Vernon has lived the past 20 years in Blackfoot.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Family History Center and served with the Boy Scouts of America.
He worked at Idaho Supreme for many years. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Aaron Bigelow and Patrick Bigelow, both of Blackfoot; brothers, Dennis Bigelow of Gilbert, Ariz., and Roger Bigelow of Modesto, Calif.; sisters, Charlotte Bigelow of Mesa, Ariz., and Joellyn Marie Bigelow of Gilbert, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Grove City Cemetery, 1 Willow Drive, Blackfoot, Idaho, under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m., at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho, prior to the graveside.
