JOHN ABRAHIMS, NEWVILLE SOLDIER, DIES IN SERVICE
Newville, PA., Oct 8 -- On Sunday morning Mrs. Sarah Abrahims, of Big Spring avenue, received word of the death of her son, John, who has been in army service for about ten weeks. He had been located at Camp Lee, Petersburg, Va. Death was due to pneumonia. Mr. Abrahims was 24 years old and beside his mother is survived by one brother, Samuel Abrahims, of Altoona, and two sisters, Miss Etta Abrahims, at home, and Mrs. George Derr, of near Newville. Private funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock and burial will be made at Carlisle.

Veterans burial card shows he was member of Co. 40 10 Tr. Batt. 155 Dep., with rank of Pvt. His service dates were 6/15/1918 to 10/6/1918.
