Notes: Lieutenant Colonel Alwan was a member of the Marine All Weather Attack Squadron 533, Marine Attack Group 12, 1st Marine Air Wing. On February 27, 1967, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skyhawk (A-4E) over South Vietnam. Radio contact was lost when he was over the South China Sea just southeast of the city of Quang Ngai in Quang Ngai Province. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
