Cathy Nelson Cox, 82, long-time resident of the Walnut, Kansas area, now residing at the Moran Manor, died Monday, May 21, 2012.
She was born March 27, 1930, in Catawba, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Christine (Raab) Herber. She grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from high school at Catawba.
She moved to Rockford, Illinois where she married Gene Patrick "Pat" Nelson on October 11, 1952. They moved to Kansas in 1958 and settled on a farm north of Walnut. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Cathy married Dale Cox in 1987 and they stayed in the Walnut area. He died in 2002.
She was a member of the Hepler Lutheran Church. Cathy enjoyed birds, reading, watching television, cooking, sewing for her children and babysitting her grandchildren and other children in her area.
