Herbert M. Anderson, 87, Sarasota, passed away Tuesday January 07, 2003, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. He was born on February 10, 1915, in Lapel to Byron and Gladys (Nielson) Anderson.
He retired in 1973 as a supervisor from General Motors in Anderson. He was a member of the Southside Christian Church in Sarasota, Florida where he served as a deacon and as a member of the board of directors.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Mushrush) Anderson; five children, Sonie (husband, Paul) Green of Anderson, Larry (wife, Jill) Anderson of Pendleton, James (wife, Connie) Campbell of Anderson, Gary (wife, Sharon) Campbell of Sarasota, FL, and Robert (wife, Frances) Anderson of Punta Gorda, FL; two sisters, Dorothy Tharp of Yakima, WA, and Barbara (husband, Danny) Richardson of Destin, FL; one brother, Rev. Neil (wife, Zeke) Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neil Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Christian Church, 4111 Webber Street, Sarasota, Florida 34232 or the charity of the donor's choice.
