Iris Durfey Vance, 95, passed away May 17, 2012, in Mesa, AZ. She was born September 1, 1916 in Beaver Dam, UT, to Henry Oakley and Eva Vilate Jensen Durfey.
She met Paul Worlton Vance at church in Alaska and they were happily married for 67 years. He preceded her in death last year. They raised their seven children in Chandler, AZ: Paul DeWayne (Lanae), Claudia Iris Reed (Bill), Dianne Layton (Robert), Kathleen Lindblom (Coy), James Oakley (Debbie), Paula Margie Merkley (Richard), John Durfey (Janese).
Iris will also be missed by 123 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister, Carol Kislan, of Utah. She loved her church and family. To her the "present time" was always the "best time".
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10 AM, preceded by a visitation at 9 AM at the LDS Southern Estates Ward Chapel, 920 S. Lindsay, Mesa.
Burial will be in the Alpine City Cemetery, Alpine, UT, May 24th. Appreciation is extended to Hospice of the Valley, Golden Age Care Home and all who loved and cared for her.
