Fannie was the daughter of William D Fletcher Harrison (1809-1847) and Ann C. Steger (1809-1892). She was the grand daughter of Benjamin Harrison (1767-1828) and Ann Hughes Williams (1770-1840) on her father's side and William Steger (1777-1830) and Mary Ann Bigger (1781-1851) on her mother's side.

She married Colonel George Washington Keene about 1863 but divorced him about 10 years later after he abandon her and their children. She changed her name back to her maiden name Harrison. She also had the family names of her children changed to Harrison.

Her children were William Henry "Babe" Harrison (1864-1913), twins Dela Ann (1866-1935) and Mabel Harrison (b 1866), Esau Harrison (1870-1956), and Robert H. Harrison (1872-1950).

Her father who died on the field of battle on 23 Feb 1847 in the Mexican-American war has a gravemarker in Lohn Cemetery even though the Cemetery only dates back to about 1883 for the first recorded burial.
