Howard L. Demler, 61, 434 N. Seventh St., a former superintendent of the sauce department of the San Giorgio macaroni plant, died Tuesday afternoon in the Lebanon Valley General Hospital. Demler started at the San Giorgio plant in September 1922 and retired in April 1968 due to poor health. Born in Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Charles and Gertrude Davis Demler. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and the Young Men’s Bible Class. Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Lambert Demler; three daughters, Mary Ann, wife of Joseph Hoelzle, Lebanon; Josephine, wife of Francis Moyer, Baltimore, Md., and Carol, wife of Gary Marks, Lebanon, and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, David and Harry Demler, Lebanon, and Donald Demler, Glenside; two sisters, Catherine, wife of Harvey Martin, Lebanon RD 4, Mrs. Mary Clawser, Lebanon RD 4 and a number of nieces and nephews.
