Walter E. Holzbach--Walter Ernest Holzbach of 205 North Boulevard, retired statistical engineer for Virginia Electric & Power Co., died today in a Richmond hospital after a short illness. He was 80. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sutherland-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, with Masonic Rites.

Mr. Holzbach was with Vepco for 30 years before his retirement. Previously, he was in the grocery business here with his father, the late Henry Earl Holzbach.

A native of Richmond, he was a member of First English Lutheran Church, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Richmond Lodge No. 10, AF&AM, and a member of Ruth Charter No. 8, OES.

Mr. Holzbach is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Lloyd Holzbach, and by five children by a previous marriage to Mrs. Cenia Kay Holzbach. There are two sons, Alfred E. and Lewis A. Holzbach, and three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Neisz, Mrs. Lola Joyce and Mrs. Doris Briley, all of Richmond.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Grace Browning and Mrs. Ruby Burton both of Richmond; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
