William G Bryan, 76, of 941 E Cantrell St, died at 10:50 am Friday in the Americana Nursing Center in Decatur. Mr. Bryan was a carpenter since he came to Decatur in 1942 from Clay County. He retired in 1960.

He was born on Feb 27, 1889, in Clay County, the son of Wesley I and Catherine I Smith Bryan. He married Nellie Blunk in Louisville on March 9, 1910.

He was a member of Christian Church and the Carpenters and Joiners Local 742.

He leaves his wife; five sons, Kenneth E of Tucson; Wayne G and William G Jr, both of Miami, Fla; Lloyd I of Riverside, Calif; and Lowel E of Longview, Wash; a daughter, Mrs. Ora (Audria) Bedell of Clearwater, Fla; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Elma Hedrick and Mrs. Sylvia Garrison, both of Flora; a brother, Norva C of Louisville; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. One sister and four brothers preceded him in death.

Services in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
