He died April 16, 2012, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth H. Allen, of Greenville; children, Tomarus Jamar Allen, of Greenville, Tommie (Teresa) Allen Jr., of Leland, Terry (Tearise) Reed, of Leland, Suzette (Antonio) Reed, of Atlanta, Ga., and Patrick Reed, of Nashville, Tenn.; one stepson, Freddie Ware, of Leland; four brothers, John Allen, of Metcalfe, Joe (Lillie) Allen, of Greenville, Fred (Linda) Allen, of Milwaukee, and Edward (Abbie) Allen, of Greenville; two sisters, Edna Gray, of Greenville, and Delores (Charles) Hewitt, of Bolton; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
The Rev. Edward Allen will officiate.
