From the Crockett Weekly Courier, 1-9-1891:
"Mode Ellis and Miss Wills were married at Lovelady last Saturday, Reverend Dawson officiating. Miss Wills is the daughter of W. W. Wills, living near Lovelady, a most excellent citizen. We understand it was a runaway match, the parents of the young lady objecting on the account of the age of their daughter."
