Fred E. Coppes of South Bend died in Memorial Hospital after an illness of 18 months. He was born in Nappanee June 7, 1885, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Coppes, a pioneer family of Nappanee. He had resided in South Bend 15 years. He is survived by the widow, two sons and two daughters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in South Bend. Burial was in South Union cemetery.
