Bandsman Passes In Local Hospital

Emmett Kenneth Richards, 22, of 2444 N. Waco, a church and Army Reserve musician, died at St. Francis Hospital Monday.

An autopsy was to be performed at St. Francis Hospital Tuesday to determine cause of death.

The musician was born at Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 25, 1936. He came to Wichita with his parents 18 years ago. He attended public schools here.

He was a former National Guard member and at the time of death was a member of the Army Reserve Band. He was employed at Associate Co., Inc., as a machinist.

He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church and of the church band and quartet.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Richards, 2444 N. Waco; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian McPherson, Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Katherine Waller, 3861 Cessna Dr.; and four brothers, Leonard Richards, Independence, Mo., James Richards, 8613 W. 9th, Sgt. Donald Richards, with the Air Force at Harrisonville, Mo., and Robert Richards, 2341 Park Pl.

Funeral plans will be announced by the Downing Mortuary.
