George W. Wilson and his two brothers intending
to leave this place to morrow, for Texas, in
consequence of the great excitement that has prevailed
for some time part, in regard to suspicious
persons, have applied to me to relate what I
know of them, and that knowledge to reduce
to working. With this request I comply with
great satisfaction.
I have known George W. Wilson and one
of his brothers, for several years. During the whole
time, their characters and conduct, have been
unexceptionable. George W. Wilson, on the first
Monday in March last, was elected by the people
of the Town, Collector of the Taxes. At a meeting
of the Board of Trustees on 16th inst. Mr. Wilson
resigned his situation, and settled his ac-
count to the entire satisfaction of the Board.
On the same day he also resigned his situation
of Town Constable, conferred upon him
by the Board of Trustees. On settling his ac-
count, the Town fell in his debt Ninety Nine
Dollars, for which sum I gave him a
warrant on the Town Treasury.

I have no hesitation in recommending
the Messrs. Wilsons as honest, orderly and
well behaved citizens, who will obey the
laws and do their duty where-ever their
lots may be cast. Such has been their conduct
here, and such, I doubt not will be
their conduct on all occasions.

Given under my hand this 21st day of
September, 1834
James M. Bradford, Presdt.
of the Board of Trustees,
and Town Magistrate.

I fully concur in the above recommendation
as given by James M. Bradfors Esqr

Unable to find the grave of Nancy C. Cannon Wilson. She died 1894. She was probably buried beside George W. originally, but a tombstone was placed in this cemetery for him.

His two brothers are named James B. Wilson and John Wilson. This information is on his application to get a Spanish Land Grant in Texas around 1834-1835. (3X Great-Granddaughter)
