Dorothy P. Hamilton, 91, formerly of 15 Green St., Lakewood, N.Y., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

An area resident for most of her life, she was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Union City, Pa., a daughter of the late Cyrus G. and Maggie Pearl Kitelinger Proper.

In earlier years, she was a demonstrator for Home Interior Products, and was also an integral part in the ministry of her husband, Rev. Wayne J. Hamilton.

She was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church and also led a Ladies Bible Study with her close friends for many years.

Surviving are her children: the Rev. Richard J. (Margaret) Hamilton of Stockton, N.Y., the Rev. Ronald E. (Shirley) Hamil- ton of Woodbury, Minn., Gail J. (Larry) Levenger of Dayton, Tenn., Janice L. (Cliff) Jones of Lakewood, N.Y., Cheryl L. (Floyd) Peters of Poplar, Wis., Dar- lene M. (Mike) Nygren of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Roseann Hamilton of Keller, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; five- great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Straite of Corry, Pa.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Wayne J. Hamilton, whom she married Nov. 27, 1938, and who died June 9, 1990; a son, Robert W. Hamilton, who died in 1992; three brothers: Claude, Vaughn and Marshall Proper; and a sister, Maebelle Stedman.
