John William Brown, son of Isaac Newton and Elizabeth Brown, was born April 16, 1861, at Dry Fork, Mo., in Dent County, and departed this life November 15, 1937, at his home near Houston, Mo. His age at the time of his going was 76 years, 6 months, and 28 days.
He was married to Rosa Wallace on December 6, 1891. To this union, four children were born, all of whom survive. They are Melvin Brown, of Britt, Iowa; Robert Brown, Mrs. Etta McKinney and Miss Trevil Brown, all of Houston.
He was converted in early life, uniting with the Ozark Baptist Church, later transferring his membership to Central Baptist Church, where he has spent his life in faithful service to his Master and fellowmen, serving as Deacon for several years past.
He leaves to mourn his departure, the faithful wife and children; 18 grandchildren; one brother and a host of other relatives and friends, who deeply mourn their loss.
Funeral held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 17. Funeral services conducted by Rev. F.W. Taylor.
