Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Alfred B. Christensen, 70, lifelong Cheyenne County resident who died Saturday, Sept. 4 at Sidney Memorial Hospital.
Services were at 2 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home with Clint Zimmerman II of the world Wide Church of God officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established in care of the family.
Alfred B. Christensen was born May 15, 1912, at Dalton, a son of Carl and Edith Fredrickson Christensen.
He married Viola C. Dickes at Chappell on Aug. 25, 1931. He was employed as a gas plant operator for Marathon Oil for 25 years, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of the World Wide Church of God.
Survivors include his widow, Viola, Sidney, two daughters: Pauline M. Tooley, Sidney, and Carolyn Rathburn, Grand Island; one brother, Edwin Christensen, Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Pearl Gibbons, Bridgeport; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
