Mrs. Maud Hodges Rites Held Sunday
Funeral services were held Sunday from the First Methodist church at Shiner for Mrs. Maude Elizabeth Baker Hodges who died at a Shiner hospital Saturday at the age of nearly 73 years.
The Rev. S. Harwood, Methodist minister conducted the last rites and interment was in the Greenwood cemetery in Gonzales county. Pallbearers were her nephews, Garth Adams, Corbett Halsell, Thomas and Tobe McGee, Weldon Reed, and grandson Buck Pettus.
Mrs. Hodges was born in McMahon on September 2, 1878, and after her marriage to A. M. Hodges settled in Caldwell county. She is survived by her husband and daughters, Miss Veta Hodges of Gonzales, Mrs. Itha Burgin of Utopia, Mrs. Ima Turk of Shiner, Mrs. Amy Froehner of Baytown, Mrs. Ciroh Anders of Shiner; Brothers, J. J. Baker, Mathis; half-brothers, Henry Adams, Lockhart; Ben Adams of McMahon; sisters, Mrs. Minnie McGee and Mrs. Emma Reed of McMahon; Mrs. Zulah Halsell of San Antonio.
Buffington Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
