SIOUX CITY | Gale Goodvin Newton formerly of Sioux City passed away April 4, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz., after suffering with inflammatory breast cancer for one year.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Third and Hamilton Blvd., in Sioux City. Private family graveside services will be held. Visitation with the family will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Gale (Babinate) Goodvin Newton was born on June 21, 1955, in Sioux City. She was married to Marty Morey on Sept. 30, 1972. She then married Bill Goodvin on Dec. 9, 1978. She later married her soul mate Richard Newton on Feb. 4, 2006.

She had lived in Sioux City, where she worked for many years at Steck Accounting Firm and M and M Copy Quick. She moved to Arizona about five years ago, where she worked at Papas.

She loved cooking, gardening, and being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Newton; her daughter, Missy Bergenske and her husband, Joe; her son, Mark Morey; stepchildren, Rick and Sherry Newton; two granddaughters, Haley and Brooklynn Bergenske; and five stepgrandchildren, Ben, Nick, Rich, Destany and Rory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elaine (White) Babinate; stepmother, Minda; and a sister, Linda (Babinate-Bollin) Bradham, second husband, Bill Goodvin.

Memorials may be sent to the church for donations to the cancer center.
