Elizabeth Lamb Dies at Hospital

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Lamb, 73, died Tuesday evening at the Ponca City Hospital, where she had been a patient for three weeks.

She was born Oct. 5, 1891, at Newark, N.J., the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. John Meisel. She received her education in Newark and as a young woman moved to San Francisco, where she worked as a clerk.

She was married to Henry A. Lamb on August 14, 1920, in Seattle and they established their home in Long Beach. In 1928 they moved to Prescott, Iowa from where they came to Ponca City in 1934. Lamb was employed by the Great Lakes Pipe Line Company here.

Mrs. Lamb was a member of the First Methodist Church and taught Sunday school classes. She was a member of the Aldersgate Circle of the church, Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, the Ponca City Garden Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Lamb was a Gold Star Mother, as Lamb died while serving in World War II.

Surviving her are three sons, Julius H. of Hastings, Minn., Robert E., of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Thomas G. of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bevins of Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Janette Young of Williamstown, Mass., and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Methodist Church with the Rev. Argus Hamilton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery under direction of the Grace Memorial Chapel.

The body will lie in state at the chapel until 8:30 a.m. Friday. The casket will not be opened following the service.
