Obituary: HALLAM-- John Ritter Ilgenfritz, 77, of Hallam, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Susanna R. (Ruppert) Ilgenfritz.

The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover. There will be no viewing. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ilgenfritz was born May 20, 1919, in York. He was the son of the late Samuel F. and Cora B. (Wilson) Ilgenfritz.

He was a pattern maker for American Chain and Cable Co., retiring after 36 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Triman Industries in New Oxford. He was a member of Friendship Fire Company 21 in Hallam and American Association of Retired Persons.

Mr. Ilgenfritz also is survived by two daughters, Treva M. McWilliams of York and Jeanne E. Coombs of Columbia; three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ruppert of Hallam and Annabelle Zimmerman of York.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John E. Krape, pastor of Yorkana Church of the Brethren.
