William Marion Lewis - a.k.a Grover Cleveland Cooley (son of Spencer Cooley and Eliza Jane Stringer) was born August 1890 in Jones County, MS, and died September 20, 1946 in Bossier City, Bossier Parish, LA. He married and had 2 families at the same time. He accomplished this by using 2 names and being superintendent of the Illinois Central Railroad. One family, the Cooley's, lived in Mississippi and the other Lewis family lived in Louisiana. When the 2nd wife Alice Smith learned of the 1st wife Alice Wright, she kicked Grover/William out. He was supposed to be away divorcing the first wife and return to the second wife. Instead, he married a third woman (Dorothy "Dot" Brown) and did not return. Both of the first wives list themselves as "widowed" in the 1930 census, but Grover/William was alive. Marriages: (1) Alice Virginia Wright in Mississippi. (2) Alice Olivia Smith in Louisiana.(3) Dorothy "Dot" Brown.
