George H. Acker, 83, formerly of 615 Squires Avenue, died in the Franklin Grove Health Care Center Tuesday. He had been a resident of Dixon for 63 years.
He was born August 15, 1903 in Polo to Albert and Mabel (Judson) Acker. He married Mildred Thomas, December 12, 1923 in Rochelle.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of Franklin Grove; daughter, Mrs. Hilmar (Helen) Schmidt of Elmhurst; son, George H. Jr., of Kalamazoo, Mich.; sister, Mrs. Harold (Ellareitta) Rizner of Eugene, Ore., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services and interment will be held Saturday in the Chapel Hill Memorial park with the Rev. Jay D. Carr ...
