DANVILLE, Va. - Emil Leon Jayne, 65, of 5036 Worsham Court died suddenly Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born September 6, 1934, in Centralia, Illinois, he was the son of Emil F. Jayne and Lena Tabor Jayne Draper.
On July 31, 1954, he was married to Delores Clark Jayne, who survives.
Mr. Jayne moved to the Danville area in 1954 where prior to his retirement he was previously employed with the City of Danville and was one of the first employees hired in 1966 at the Goodyear plant in Danville. Mr. Jayne was a member of the Williamson Memorial Presbyterian Church where he also served as an elder. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include one daughter, Emily Jayne DuVarney of Boone, N.C.; son-in-law, Brian DuVarney of Boone, N.C.; grandson, Noah Michael DuVarney of Boone, N.C.; sister, Lorelei Fox of Walnut Hill, Illinois; sister Ilene Caldwell of Cupertime, Calif.; mother-in-law, Edna Clark Pugh of Danville, Va.; Sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Phyllis and Buddy Clark of Fancy Gap, Va., sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky and Billy Gravely of Ringgold, Va., sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Sue and Johnny Quinn of Danville, Va.
A graveside funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Harold Kistler officiating.
