Pauline Leatherwood
KANNAPOLIS -- The funeral will be Tuesday for Pauline Pouncey Leatherwood, 86, 1004 Robinhood Lane, who died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Sept. 28, 1916, in Highland Home, Ala., Mrs. Leatherwood was a daughter of the late A.J. and Lucy Stough Pouncey.
She had retired from Cannon Mill Plant 4 and was a member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church.
She was past president of VFW Auxiliary Post 8989; a former member of Brookside Baptist Church Senior Citizens Club, Senior Citizens Senior Club; and a member of Royal Oaks Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of Sunday school and Women's Circle and a former elder.
Mrs. Leatherwood volunteered at the Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, and the Kannapolis YMCA Senior Center.
Her husband, Hugh R. Leatherwood, died July 18, 1969.
Survivors include sisters Mattie Brewer, Manassas, Va., and Lucy Cook, Bradleyton, Ala.; and brother Baxter Pouncey, Memphis, Tenn.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Lady's Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Howard Tyas and the Rev. Amy Burton. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of a sister-in-law, 1009 Robinhood Lane.
