Wallace T. Jaynes, 55, owner of Bebrick Co. for 22 years and a lifelong resident of Victoria, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in a local hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Jaynes, of 2803 Lenora, was born March 8, 1921 in Victoria, and was the son of the late Samuel E. and Letha Gibson Jaynes. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
He served in the Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II, and was a member of VFW Post 4146 and the American Legion. He was a collector of guns and coins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Mize officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Jaynes of Victoria; a daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Nicholson and a son, Terry Lee Jaynes, both of Victoria; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Carroll and Mrs. Birdie Evins, both of Victoria, Mrs. Lavada Sproles of Mean, Ark., and Mrs. Letha McCurley of Fort Worth; a brother, Simon E. Jaynes of Houston, and three grandchildren.
The family has requested that in lieu of the usual remembrances, contributions be made to the building fund of Northside Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jake Schlein, Alton Vogt, Pat Corn, Lee Sears, Charles Anderson and Alvin Boyd.
