James Thomas (Jimmy) Ainsworth was born November 16, 1921 to John Riley and Lula Anne Brandon Ainsworth in Marshall, Texas. He was a very proud World War II veteran serving in the U S Army Air Force. After the war, he returned to Marshall where he married the love of his life Melba Lee Watson in 1946. In 1960 Jimmy relocated his family to Midland where he was a self-employed plastering contractor until his retirement in 1981.
Jimmy was a faithful Christian and spent his retirement years serving First Assembly of God Church in Midland as Head Usher. He loved his children, lived for his grandchildren and worshiped his great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003 and his youngest daughter, Susan Hall in 2006. He survived by daughters Sandy Pruitt and husband Dave of Midland, Karen Houghton and husband Cliff of Amarillo and son Ron Ainsworth and wife Peggy of Midland. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren Steve Pruitt, Mark Pruitt, Heather Houghton, Chris Hall, Corey Hall and Cara Hall.
Graveside services will be held Saturday May 12th at Resthaven Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.
