Roberta A. Amick, 68, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Roberta was born on Nov. 4, 1943, the daughter of Robert W. and Frances (Johnson) Coover Sr.
She was married to Darrell Amick on Sept. 24, 1966, in South Sioux City. She was employed with the Sioux City Community Schools as the lunch lady at Smith School before retiring in 2008.
She was a member of Glad Tidings Lighthouse. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell Amick of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Roger and Donnette of Sioux City, and Darin and Jamie of Omaha; a daughter and her husband, Jerri and Chris Mace of Sioux City; two brothers, Mark Coover of Denver, Colo., and Robert Coover and his wife, Janette of Le Mars, Iowa; four sisters, Norma Comstock and Florence Mann-Palmer, both of Sioux City, Shirley Stidd and her husband Jack of Nebraska City, Neb., and Linda Howell and her husband, George of Palmyra, Neb.; and eight grandchildren, Nicole Amick, Justin Amick, Jerod Hollinger, Jayden Mace, Jordyn Mace, Christiaan Amick, Taylon Amick, and Alexa Amick.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
