Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Caledonia for Mrs. Sverre Aasum, 83, who died Saturday, April 13, at the Caledonia Nursing home following an extended illness. The Rev. K. Roger Johnson officiated. Burial was in the Hesper Lutheran cemetery.
The former Emma Skorgen, she was born July 12, 1890, in Fillmore County, Minnesota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Skorgen. On November, 9, 1926, she married Sverre Aasum. They lived in the Mabel area until 1960 when they moved to Spring Grove where they lived three years before moving to Caledonia.
Survivors are her husband; one son, Sidney of Caledonia; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Signe) Housker, Mabel; 5 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Roy (Clara) Iverson, Mabel, Bina Skorgen, Rushford, Olga Skorgen, Preston and Mrs. Martha Munn, Elma,N.Y.
