The Rev. Edmond Archie Ambrose, 63, retired minister, died Thursday in his home, 431 Randolph St.

A native of Roper, N.C., he lived in this area 18 months.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Gloria Carter and Mrs. Louise Boyles of Portsmouth, Mrs. Estelle Simmons, Mrs. Elva Edwards and Mrs. Ola Mae Burns of Norfolk, Mrs. Leonia Bateman of Alexandria and Mrs. Grace Styons of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a son, Wayne J. Ambrose of Topeka, Kan.; a brother, Herman Ambrose of Portsmouth; and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Spruill of Roper, N,C., and Mrs. Ida Blount of Plymouth, N.C.

The body was taken to Sturtevant Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in Norfolk Faith Center. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
