INDIAN WARS VET HEEDS LAST CALL HERE AT AGE 85
Albert Alexander Schwerin, McMinnville resident recently of Dayton, died here last Thursday at the age of 85. Schwerin came to McMinnville from Dayton three years ago. He moved to Dayton from San Diego, Cal., in 1938.
Funeral services were read by Rev. Elton E. Smith at 2 o'clock Saturday, with interment following at Evergreen Memorial park. Arrangements were handled by Macy & Son. Surviving is Mrs. Ora B. Schwerin, the widow.
The deceased was born on Aug. 28, 1860, at Burlington, Ia., and was married at San Diego on Aug. 6, 1937. He was a veteran of the Indian wars, having served as Chief Scout, 1st and 2nd Cavalry from Nov. 28, 1881 to 1894. Spanish American War veterans acted as pallbearers.
