Gertrude Maria Anderson

ELK MOUNTAIN - Memorial services for Gertrude Anderson, 97, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Elk Mountain Community Church by the Rev. Pat Jeffrey.
Mrs. Anderson died Nov. 24, 1994, at her home. She was born Oct. 14, 1897, to Gabriel and Victoria (Tingwall) Boberg and was raised on the family ranch near Elk Mountain. Her parents and two sisters died when she was a young girl and she helped raise her nephews, Albert and Louie Irene (deceased), Elmer Irene of Hanna and Vernon Irene of Casper.
On June 12, 1926, she married Andrew Anderson and the couple made their home in tie camps. They homesteaded at Coyote Springs, Wyo., in 1931.
Survivors include her children, Ella Young of Brush Creek, Victor and William Anderson of Coyote Springs, Andrew Anderson of Casper, and Margaret Karstoff of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; two sisters, Olga Irene and Anna Herman; and her brother, John Boberg.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Elk Mountain Community Church would be appreciated.
