Jonathan Tyler Hartman was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 7, 1994. He was the son of Rev. Steve Hartman and Susan Hartman, who survive him. Jonathan died on May 8, 2012 as the result of injuries which he sustained in a vehicle accident.

He was a wonderfully dedicated Christian young man and a member of Kiokee Baptist Church. He had many friends, and was as a blessing to all who knew him. He is remembered as a very caring young man, who encouraged other young people.

Jonathan was finishing his senior year at Harlem High School. He was a very athletic young man, and played on the football, baseball and tennis teams in school. He was also a great fan of the University of Florida Gators.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sam Hartman.

Jonathan loved his family very much and they him. He is survived, in addition to his parents, by a brother, sister and brother-in-law, as well as his paternal grandmother and maternal grandparents.

Jonathan's funeral was held at Kiokee Baptist Church on Saturday, May 12, 2012, and Rev. Wes Gardner officiated. Interment followed in the Kiokee Cemetery on Shucraft Road in Appling, Georgia.
