Spickard, MO March 7, 1922. Abel Clay Cornwell, one of our best known citizens, living on Rt. 1 passed away early Tuesday morning at his home after a long illness of paralysis.
The deceased was born in Grundy County March 9, 1857 and lacked but a few days of being sixty-five years old at the time of his death.
The funeral services were held at the family home Wednesday afternoon and the burial made in the Martin Cemetery. The services at the grave were in charge of the Odd Fellows of Spickard of which lodge Mr. Cornwell has long been a member.
He is survived by his wife and several children [Elza, Ray, Benjamin, John, Jay, Woodrow, William and Sylvia], two brothers, L. P. and R. N. Cornwell of Spickard and a host of relatives and friends.
